DR. L’S BLUES IN THE SCHOOLS PROGRAM

The Blues In The Schools program performed by the Eric Lesser Band is an acclaimed instructional and entertaining musical event designed for grades K-12. We offer a performance that traces the history of the Blues, America’s great roots musical genre, from its inception in New Orleans, through our current time. The show is led by bandleader, educator and psychologist, Dr. Eric Lesser who has 40 years of experience in both the music and education fields. The band includes 2 Grammy award winners and performers from Broadway and TV. We have had great success with the program and now offer it to school districts and performance venues throughout the tri-state area.

The performance runs from 45-60 minutes. We bring all musical and set-up equipment unless the school can provide required instruments, amplifiers, and a sound system. We suggest that for our first performance at your school we perform for your Middle High/High School students. However, we can adjust the timing and content our show for younger, K-6 children. Generally, an audience of 50-100 students works best, given that the show is interactive with audience participation and several students joining the band on stage to perform with us when possible. We can easily perform for smaller groups and have performed the show in a classroom or smaller venues.
